When Misery Leads

Greetings Friend, 

Today I would like to speak to you about what it was like before-when I was lost in the darkness and shadows of terror.

 You see their was a time when I was in deep depression,  anxiety &  terror swarmed around me, tormented me and brought me misery every single day. 

When the morning came I would shrink back, pulling the covers over my head-not wanting to face another day. I saw nothing good in life but only sorrow-sadness and disappointment. 

I know many of you can relate to this feeling-going through the motions-forceing yourselves to just keep going, all the while wanting only to give up. 

I remember those days and how the misery was my constant companion-pulling me down-pushing me further and deeper into the pit. 

Even when the sun shined and the flowers bloomed I couldn’t appreciate them-I was forever stuck in the negative and daunting side of my own reckless mind. 

I hated my life, I hated being alive. Looking back I can see how I tried in subdule ways to destroy myself. I was ravaged by alcohol-pills-the “party life” I was bulemic- addicted to people pleasing and drawn into abusive relationships with men. 

At that time the idea of eternal life received in Salvation as found in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that who so ever shall believe in Him shall not perish but shall have “ever lasting life”, seemed horrible-a punishment.”

Who would want everlasting life if it was like the life I eas experiencing-a life of torment-fear-depression and darkness? 🥺

I know if you are suffering in life you will understand what I mean. No sane person would desire to carry on in an ever lasting life of misery and suffering. 

 The thing is that at that time I did not understand what life really was. I did not understand that I was a fallen creature living in sin and that I was separated from God the creator of all good things.

I did not understand I was living in a fallen world and that the pain-misery-desperation we all feel are universal, not just my own torment-but everyone who has not been born again of the spirit suffers this way.

I had been to church, heard of salvation and even prayed many times as a child to be saved. 

Still  I did not fully comprehend what all of that meant. I was blinded by the eyes of the enemy. 

2 Corinthians 4:4 “Satan who is the God of this world has blinded the eyes of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the good news. They do not understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likens of Christ.” 

This was me-I had heard but did not understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Dearest Friend this  may be exactly where you are right now. Perhaps you have heard of Salvation-this Jesus. Perhaps you have been to Church and it was weird or long or didn’t make any sense to you. 

 If this is you-if you have tried God, not really understand or grasping what these crazy Jesus people are saying.  If you have been disappointed by your attempts to find God then you are not alone. I felt this way to, for many years. 

Yet no matter-God never gave up on me, no matter how I felt or how far I thought I had fallen-even that of trying to take my own life-I was never beyond His reach and you my friend are not betond His reach either. 

Iif you have felt that perhaps God may love them but certainly not you. If you feel to lost -to evil-to dark and to unworthy of God’s Grace-Mercy and Forgiveness then I urge you friend to cry out your heart to Him in all sincerity. He will hear the sincere cry of the lost.

Revelation 3:20

“Look I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”

Friend If you are reading this Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, He is asking you to open the door and let Him in. He is not just for her or him or them, He is for you. 
If you are hopeless-angry and frustrated with this life with people with yourself and perhaps even with God. I urge you today to take a moment consider your life-your thoughts-your beliefs. Is their a chance you have been wrong, is their a chance you have been misinformed?
When we come to the end of ourselves-when we have exhausted all our efforts and trying to be happy-when we have done everything we know to do and still find ourselves suffering-it’s is then-we can look outside ourself for answers-we can look up to the heavens and see something else-another way-a way not of our own making but a way shining down on us urging us to trust-to open up-to reach out and grasp the hand of the Father. 
John 10:10“The thief comes only to destroy. I have come, (Jesus Speaking) that they may have life and have it abundantly. “
Stop giving your life to Satan the god of this world and give yourself to Christ that your soul may have rest and home for eternity.
Make no mistake friend that death is not the end. Death will not bring you relief from this world but it will bring you one of two things. 
Eternal life-light-love-sustenance,  grace, mercy, kindness and forgiveness from our loving father through the salvation of Jesus Christ or eternal separation from him-where their is outer darkness, weeping and gnashing of teeth. 
Revelation 21:4“He will wipe away every tear from their eye and death shall be no more, neither shall their be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away.” 
Luke 13:28 In that place their will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac,  Jacob and all the prophets of the kingdom of God but you yourselves will be thrown out. 
You see friend we have two choices in this life and the next-live in the light and presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or stay broken, angry and hostile in the darkness of Satan himself. 
Our Lord urges us to cry out to Him to repent-turn from our former eays and receive new birth-the birth of the Spirit who enable us to live for Christ. For without His Spirit can never please God.
John 3Jesus answers “I tell you the truth no one can enter the kingdom unless he is born of ewwww water and of the Spirit.” Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” “ You must not be supersized at my saying you must be born again.” 
The time for Salvation is now. Don’t wait. Take this moment this day and ask The Lord Jesus into your heart-repent and turn from sin and follow God in everything you do think and say. 
1 Corinthians 1:18 The Message of The Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved it is the Power of God.
